"The Bay

of Pigs"

A once a year Adventure that can't be missed!

FISHING GREEN BAY IS MY "FUN FISHING AREA". It is a body of water that is easily fished.
If you need a guide referral I keep a list of special references for this area, just ask me; but you can really fish this on your own.

Green Bay can look intimidating but is one of the most easily fished waters if you like a little adventure, weather is the key factor. Fishing here is a mix of casting and trolling; which is something we can all do. In the early part of the season you will find the fish in the Fox River section which is about 3 to 4 miles long from the mouth of the bay to the dam. Casting or trolling is easy and you will enjoy fishing in the downtown area of Green Bay.
When it comes to fishing the bay do not get caught up in thinking you are fishing deep water, most of University Bay is an average of 8 to 10 feet and a little deep on the outer perimeter. In the summer you can go out in the bay and fish the weed reefs and cast big baits for some big fish… a map is suggested to find those reefs. In the late fall you can stay right in University Bay and troll fish in the fishing channel or east of the shipping channel but on the alert for shallow water.

Trophy muskies in Green Bay has been a well kept secret until recent times. Held once by a few local guides and walleye fisherman, the trophy muskies in Green Bay is a great, but limited resource. The biggest part of knowing about this fishery is that it must be first established that this is a FRAGILE fishery, the future of this existance is unknown and those that venture to this land must understand both the written & unwritten rules. With a 50 inch size limit it must be understood that fishing here should only be a "Catch & Release" Regardless of your catch!
THE NEXT WORLD RECORD MAY COME FROM HERE!!

The handling of the fish should be done in a professional manner... when you hook-up use care, when netting use care! Keep your fish upright in the net and only remove him from the water for a quick photo & measurement and get that fish back in the water, less than a minute is highly recommended.

Fish a Northwoods experience with me and I can give you some tips on fishing Green Bay!
